Joining the Birthday Book Club –

It's a Piece of Cake !


Celebrate your child's birthday by adding a book to the Buker Library.
 Your child's book receives special recognition, a commemorative bookplate and presentation to their class during Library.  More information about the Birthday Book Club will be in your child's backpack on Friday.  A list of Birthday Book ideas can be found on the Buker Website under the Class Pages for the Library.  If you have questions contact Ms. Putnam in the Buker Library or parent volunteer, Michelle Bailey at m.mbailey@verizon.net

Buker Fall Festival

Please join us in welcoming new families at the Buker Fall Festival!  Enjoy dinner, fun games, a moonbounce, crafts, a raffle and even make your own "Jack Straw" scarecrow. Enter your secret family recipe in the 9th Annual Buker School Pie Baking Contest.   Save the date:  Wednesday, October 28, 5-7 pm.   Please contact Amy Wieman at tigger01984@yahoo.com if you would like to volunteer.

The FOB CULTURAL ENRICHMENT coordinator Cynthia Dooley has been very busy putting together a calendar

of wonderful programs for our students.

The Friends of Buker Family Photo Day has been rescheduled to Sunday, October 18th.  All time slots between 1 and 6PM are available.  Photos will be taken by Karl Blaser, a local photographer, and proofs will be available to be ordered in time for the holidays.  The sitting fee of $50 is donated to the Friends of Buker.  Please contact Cathy Freeman at cathyjimfreeman@comcast.net to schedule your session or for additional information.

PLAYGROUND SAFETY REMINDER:

Please supervise your children while using the play structure after hours.  The equipment is not intended to be used for gymnastics.   The landing surface is designed to provide safety for normal use.

Kids and Company:  Together For Safety.
Wednesday, October 14th, from 7:00p to 8:00p, Buker School library to discuss the District’s safety curriculum,  This is a comprehensive program taught in grades K-5 that provides children with the skills, information, self-confidence and support necessary to prevent abduction and sexual abuse.  The program takes a positive and constructive approach in helping children respond to various situations and make safe decisions.  If you have any questions about the program or the forum, please contact Kathleen Hughes, Counselor, at 978-468-5348.

DISTRICT CALENDAR CHANGES:
Dismissal on November 25th will be at 11:15am for elementary students, for the Thanksgiving recess.
